The Women's Foundation of Greater Kansas City
We bring women from all walks of life—all races, religions, and cultures—together; pool our investments for growth; and make grants that foster meaningful, positive change.
Thousands of women, young and old, rich and poor, contributed to the foundation’s Endowment Fund, which is managed and invested by women.
The Women's Foundation was launched with a $100,000 gift in 1991 from the late civic leader Marjorie Powell Allen. Today, that initial investment has grown to more than $6 million in an endowment fund through gifts from more than 4,500 donors.
We receive contributions from individuals and families, foundations, corporations, and special events.
